• The original awards were commissioned blue Wedgewood urns. They were changed in 1984, when the award show was renamed the Laurance Olivier Awards. The new award was changed from blue urns to bronze statues of a young Laurence Olivier portrayed as Henry V.
• The musical Hamilton holds the record for most Olivier Award nominations, receiving 13 nominations in 2018.
• The Laurence Olivier Awards have a strong influence on West End attendance; winning an award can boost ticket sales and extend the life of a production.
