Today we gather in prayer for Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. We respond to Pope Francis’s call, that Christians across the globe dedicate Ash Wednesday to prayer for peace in Ukraine and our world. https://t.co/n1UjrcdBGW

More than a thousand people gathered today at St Patrick’s Cathedral for Ash Wednesday. Today’s liturgy was especially dedicated to praying for peace in Ukraine, with Bishop Mykola Bychok, head of the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Australia, joining @bishopComensoli. 🙏✝️ https://t.co/UKyFmvwQBj
Our students participated in a lovely Ash Wednesday liturgy today which also marked the beginning of Lent. https://t.co/qUdJ9y00W9

Today is Ash Wednesday and we focus our minds and hearts on what is really important in life. It is a time we are reminded to keep life in proper perspective when we find ourselves preoccupied with non-essentials. Life, therefor is a brief interlude between states of dust. https://t.co/fCf323ipax
Just felt the need to at least try to be radio freedom over here, tonight. Wishing the world all the love this Ash Wednesday. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Happy Ash Wednesday! A lenten suggestion: Pick a spiritual book (not politically motivated) - just one - and read it all the way through, bit by bit. Let grace seep into you.

Today we held an online Ash Wednesday Liturgy, live streamed from the Chapel to all classrooms, where ashes were distributed to mark the beginning of lent.
May the period of Lent remind us of the fullness of life, and the gift of giving to those around us.

Ash Wednesday in 2022
Ash Wednesday is mainly a Catholic observance in which ashes are marked on the forehead of parishioners in the shape of a cross. The ashes are meant as a reminder of our mortality and sinfulness.
